Current Responsibilities: Chief of the Earthquake Probabilities and Occurrence project, seismological research aimed understanding the physics of the earthquake process in order to provide better long-term hazards estimates. Specialties include: inversion of stress from focal mechanisms, local earthquake tomography, statistical analysis of earthquake prediction methods, seismotectonics, and rapid earthquake monitoring methods.
